General Dentistry

Most general dental procedures respect the importance of aesthetics. At Cook’s Bay Dental we keep in mind the three principles of successful dental treatment;

  • Form

  • Function and

  • Aesthetics.

At Cook’s Bay Dental we strive for excellence in each area to achieve, not only a great functioning result, but also one that blends seamlessly into your natural smile. We are able to accomplish our aesthetic results by using some of the most superior products on the market, that have been supported by scientific research, to achieve not only excellent functional results, but also beautiful aesthetic results.

Most dental plans cover aesthetic treatment options including white (composite) fillings, porcelain crowns and bridges, and in some cases, even tooth alignment and implants.

Cosmetic dentistry refers to procedures that do not correct a dental ailment issues, but aim solely to improve appearances. This differs from the concept of “aesthetic” dentistry which corrects an actual diagnosed dental issues but uses materials that create attractive results. Common procedures that fall into the category of “cosmetic” treatment include tooth whitening and porcelain veneers. Both aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry can address various common concerns while creating and maintaining a healthy smile. These include:

  • Replacing missing teeth

  • Whitening and correcting colour

  • Altering tooth size, shape and alignment

  • Correcting gaps between teeth

  • Replacing old and unattractive restorations with appealing new alternatives
