At Cook’s Bay Dental we understand the value of insurance benefits to our patients. As a courtesy to our patients, we accept assignment of these benefits towards the payment of dental treatment.
This means when you join as a patient we bill directly to your insurance company whenever possible. Using assignment of benefits, the amount of treatment that is covered by the insurance provider is sent directly to our office. You are only responsible for paying the difference between the total and what is covered by your insurance provider at the time of your appointment.
Dental plans vary greatly but we do our very best to know the limitations of our patients’ dental plans. With your permission, we will contact your insurance provider on your behalf to determine from DAY ONE what your benefits cover.
We have a great deal of experience dealing with various providers and plans and can help you better understand your insurance. We will often do pre-authorizations for services in advance of treatment to let our patients know the level of their insurance coverage. Remember, your dental insurance plan is not a treatment plan. The forms, conditions, and percentages of payments are a contract between you, your employer or union, and the insurance company. Only you and your dentist can decide on the treatment plan that best meets your specific needs and circumstances.
